AHS girls dominate D4 opener

Ashland lost just three games in four dominating singles performances en route to a 7-1 District 4-opening victory over Marshfield Friday in Coos Bay.

Ashland No. 1 singles player Casey Schein led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 drubbing of Brittany Morris, and Maggie Schein followed suit at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Anita Beer.

In the closes match of the day, Marshfield's No. 1 doubles team, Nicole Zyta and Leslie Silver, defeated Lila Schreiber and Nicole Jacquat, 4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-3.
