Million-dollar ticket sold in Ashland

Someone in Ashland just got $1 million richer.

That's $1,267,142 to be exact.

The Oregon Lottery announced Thursday someone in Ashland bought the more than $1 million Powerball ticket. The winner has until Feb. 19 to claim the prize.

"We know it was sold by an Ashland retailer. We just don't know which one," said Ray Martin, spokesman for the Oregon Lottery.

Martin said there are about seven or eight retailers in Ashland who sell Powerball tickets.

Ashland's winning ticket included a Power Play option that increased the beginning prize from $200,000 to $800,000. A Match 5 Prize Pool Bonus added $467,142 to make the total prize more than $1 million.

Oregon Lottery Powerball players have won more than $592 million in prizes. In October 2005, the Oregon Lottery sold a winning ticket for a $340 million jackpot.

Winners also bought tickets in Chemult, Redmond and Tigard.

The winning numbers were 15-17-43-44-48. The winning Powerball number was 29.
