Sally Lee Simpson Sally Lee Simpson, 63, formerly of Ashland, passed away Friday, July 11, 2003 at her home in Rancho Cordova, Calif. Graveside services will be held Oct. 20, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Park. Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Gustison of Ashland; sister, Susan Wilson of Fairbanks Alaska; daughter, Shelby Sherman of Morgan Hill, Calif.; and son, Jeffery McKemie of Las Vegas. Arrangements were handled by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives & Crematory.
Harold L. Grogg Harold L. Grogg, 74, of Ashland, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at the Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ashland.
Ezra L. Ross The graveside service for Ezra Lyman Ross will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Oregon. Officiating will be Pastor Colleen Graham. Mr. Ross, 81, of Ashland, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at the Ashland Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1922 at Dayton, Ark., the son of Agatha and Chester Ross. He was raised in Arkansas and graduated from high school in Delano, California. During World War II, Mr. Ross served in the United States Coast Guard. On Aug. 22, 1943 at Smith River, California, he married the former Alice Elaine Ransom, who survives. Mr. Ross has lived in Reno, Nev.; Barstow, Calif.; and Yreka, Calif., where he was a State of California Quarantine Inspector. Much of his time was spent living in Brookings, where he was a service station mechanic. Mr. Ross moved to Ashland in 1989. He enjoyed rock hunting, gardening and woodworking. He was a past commander of the Brookings Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons, Michael Ross of Mehama and Stephen Ross of Ashland; one brother, Paul Ross of Kaui, Hawaii; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Orford Heritage Society, P.O. Box 1132, Port Orford, OR 97465.
