Public Safety Community Notes · SENIOR SERVICES LIFELINE is an emergency response system that links people to 24-hour assistance at the push of a button. It allows them to move freely around their homes or yards with more confidence. For more information, call 732-5054. · COMMUNITY NIGHT AT FAIRGROUNDS will make the Jackson County Fairgrounds and Expo Park available free of charge to all groups interested. Community night will be the first Tuesday of each month. Groups must provide their own insurance coverage. For information, call 774-8274. · NEW YEAR'S DAY MEDITATION RETREAT will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Self and Soul Center, 9820A Wagner Creek Rd., Talent. The afternoon of spiritual practice will be led by Rod Birney, MD, and Suzanna Nadler, Med, LPC. Cost is $15, proceeds from which will be donated to "Seeds of Peace" which offers programs to promote peace among the youth of all nations. For clinic locations and fees, call 732-6254. · THE MEALS CLUB OFFERS DINNERS to those who need help preparing and cooking meals and to those who don't qualify for other meal programs. Club dinners are made fresh and then frozen so that they're ready to heat when needed. Dinners include a main dish, vegetable or fruit, bread, and dessert. Weekly deliveries can be arranged. The Meals Club is a service of ACCESS Inc. Community Nutrition Programs. Contributions to help provide meals are tax deductible. For information and reservations, call 774-4308. · NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION SEEKS DONATIONS of unwanted clothes, household items, and furniture for a giant rummage sale in March to benefit the National Kidney Foundation of Oregon and Washington.
