Marie Elizabeth Furrer, 73, of Ashland died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 at Ashland Community Hospital. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Rev. Michael Powell of First Methodist Church will officiate. Private interment will be in Stearns Cemetery in Talent, Ore. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Miss Furrer was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Wakefield, Kan., to Arthur E. and Mary L. (Kregar) Furrer. She came to the Rogue Valley in 1938 from Kansas. She was a member of the Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She worked seasonally for Associated Fruit and was a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Medford prior to retirement.
Survivors include several cousins, including Pat Hansen and Carol George, both of Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by her father in 1939 and her mother in 1991.
