ASHLAND POLICE & FIRE

· 10:12 a.m. Tuesday - An Ashland woman on the 600 block of Clay St., reported that her ex-husband was calling her repeatedly. Her lawyer contacted his lawyer and the calls stopped.

· 2:42 p.m. Tuesday - A mountain bike valued at $375 was stolen from the 300 block of Wightman Street.

· 7:49 p.m. Tuesday - Two tires valued at $200 were stolen from a mountain bike on the 1200 block of Siskiyou Blvd.

· 8:36 p.m. Tuesday - An Ashland man was arrested and lodged in Jackson County Jail for DUII, possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance on the 200 block of E. Hersey St.

· 12:14 a.m. Wednesday - An Ashland man was arrested and lodged in Jackson County Jail on charges of domestic violence fourth-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief after he allegedly caused $200 damage to the exterior front door of a residence on the 1600 block of Siskiyou Blvd.

· ANNUAL SKI SWAP AT SOU will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday in the lower level of Stevenson Union Arena. Used gear may be registered from noon to 9 p.m. today, tomorrow, and Friday at the SU and checks may be picked up between 4 and 8 p.m. November 14. SOU will retain 15 percent of the sales. · RECYCLED ART will be created from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Room 102 of the SOU Art Building for the November 15 Recycled and Found Art Show at SOU. Some materials will be provided but all are encouraged to bring their own recycled materials to create mosaics, paper, paintings, beadwork, clothing, sculpture - anything. · POEMS SOUGHT FROM ASHLAND AREA POETS for a poetry contest sponsored by Celestial Arts in Talent. A $1,000 grand prize is offered to the winner with a poem of 21 lines or less. Poems should be sent to Celestial Arts, P.O. Box 1140, Talent, Ore. 97540; the deadline is November 17. The poet's name and address should appear on the page with the poem. A winners list will be sent to all entrants.

· NINTH ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR AT ASHLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL will be held November 24 and 25. The school is looking for crafters; booth fees are $35. For information, call 482-1611, ext. 154 or susan.frey@ashland.k12.or.us.

· ANNUAL BEAR KNITTING PROJECT will be sponsored by the Web·sters to benefit the Dunn House. Yarn, stuffing, and a simple pattern will be provided for people to knit a bear and return it to the Web·sters for distribution. Kits are available now at the Web·sters, 11 N. Main St., Ashland. Finished bears should be returned by December 7. For information, call 482-9801.
