Work begins on Wightman lines

Ashland Daily Tidings

Drivers will be rerouted off a section of Wightman Street for four to five weeks beginning today to allow crews to replace deteriorated sanitary sewer lines, according to the Ashland Public Works Department.

The affected section on Wightman is between Lee and Iowa Streets.

Residents on Wightman Street will have access to their driveways, but through traffic will be directed to other streets, according to Terry Ellis, wastewater supervisor for the department.

Crews will replace the existing eight-inch concrete lines with 12-inch PVC pipe. Work is expected to end the week of Feb. 26, Ellis said.

For more information, contact Ellis at 488-5353.
